Cultivating Creative Minds
Roots + Wings School of Art and Design nurtures and encourages the natural creativity within people of all ages through innovative art and design education, community collaboration and a focus on both local and global impact.
With programs for ages 3 up through 133, students at Roots + Wings School of Art and Design learn the principles of design and art expression while exploring their creative voices and applying innovative and creative problem-solving skills to real-life situations within their communities. Our main programs include our Visual Arts Preschool, After-school Community Design Lab (including three off-site locations), Summer Creativity Camps and Design Studios, Adult workshops, Art + Design Studio classes and our INNOVATION HOUR™ curriculum and professional development. We also have a Community Arts Initiative that makes art and design accessible to people in all communities in Asheville. Our Grace Eaton Scholarship Fund helps fund this and other scholarship opportunities for our programs. The Roots + Wings Creative Campus, our headquarters building, is located in the Oakley neighborhood of Asheville! Come out and create with us!
